"you've got your hands full"

Okay, so this post will enlighten those of you who don't know the extent of my nerd tendencies, organization, "life-is-a-game-of-Tetris" mind set that is the world of Megan Doke.

I grocery shop once a month for the month's groceries and meals. The other weeks of the month, we make a quick run to Walmart for about 4 items. I wish I could take credit for this genius idea, but a mom on the Today Show does this and saves lots of time, money, and energy. So it's off to Walmart and Sam's we go!
My mom tells me to document these days of errands and being in the car together, listening to the girls' laugh, talk, play...she always tells me in a moment, you'll look up and they're grown up and the moment is gone and all you have is a memory. So I decided to take my camera along as much as I can...even though it's not exciting, it's still documentation of a sweet memory with my little ones.
Thanks for the wisdom sweet mommy of mine.
(if you haven't had Sam's pizza, it's REALLY good and cheap!)
I get the comment of "Wow, you've got your hands full" every time we go...usually by a nice old man. This week I was the mom in the store with 2 crying, tired kids...I thought I was going to cry too!
We had a great day and as Marcene Primrose says "You have the choice every day in motherhood to laugh or cry...choose to laugh"...ha, ha, ha!
I know some day I'll be able to run errands all by myself...and I imagine as nice as that will be, I will miss my little sweet girls giggling, talking, eating, and hugging me as I shop.
love you bear & boo!

lower molars=grumpy boo

our little Boo has been getting her molars...2 upper ones in the last 2 weeks and now 2 lower ones this past week. poor baby. a friend of mine read that adults would not be able to tolerate the pain from teething.
normally sophie lynn can't sit still for 10 minutes but lately, she's pretty grumpy and just wants to be held or lay around. this week i bought Mary Poppins for the girls and we've watched it a time or two!
(these pictures make me think if this next baby is a boy, we'll have some serious un-pink shopping to do for sure!)
poor little girl! xoxo

staff & intern dinner

each semester gerod organizes a dinner for our incredible interns and the staff.
we met at the primrose's for a mexican feast...d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s!!!
aaron, ken, me, kerri, gerod
our AWESOME interns (minus laura)

we are so blessed to be a part of this family...norman community church!
i truly don't know what i would do without these wonderful people we go to church with. emma actually asks "when is house church coming?" several times a week because she just can't wait to dance and worship and learn about Jesus!
being on staff these past few years has unlocked a passion in my heart to see His kingdom come to our little ones...our children. He has moved in our community and it has been such an honor to sit back and watch our kids in our community chase after the Lord, lay hands on the sick, go on treasure hunts, have dreams and visions, fearlessly proclaim the gospel...God is so good!
we are truly blessed!

last week we're headed out to BSF and the girls just looked too cute...i attempted a few pictures before we left.

little boo
it's really funny that emma is SO into accessories, purses, sunglasses...you name it, it's a requirement before we leave the house. not sure where she gets it from...certainly not from me!
oh sweet sisters, i pray your love for each other grows deeper each day!
love, mommy

uncle rod came to town!

My oldest brother Rod came for a quick visit and made a drive down to Norman to see us!
It was only a few hours but we had such a good time playing, having lunch, watching movies (Chipmunk Adeventure anyone?), and catching up.
My girls LOVED spending time with Uncle Rod...they're like magnets, attached to him!
We love you Roddy! Can't wait to see you in August!!!

grace for today

Okay, so I have been really busy and I'm way behind on things...well, a lot of things. One being my blog.
So I was working on my computer and came across these pics from my dear friend Shannon. I love my friend Shannon, she is so good to me. I love everything about her...her wisdom, grace, kindness, gentle heart and most of all, her tender love for our Father.
A few weeks ago she came and picked up Emma Rose for a playdate with her son Sulley.
They have so much fun together!
eating Happy Meals on campus
emma LOVES the fountains on campus..."Is OU closed or open?" is the question I hear almost every day
love Sulley's silly serious face!
in the tunnels at the stadium...it was so windy her flip flops were carried away in the wind!
~I am so grateful for my wonderful friends and it's been such a blessing to have babies together and see them grow up to be these funny, kind, and sweet little people.

~I heard about a teaching by Jenn Johnson from Bethel Church in Redding, CA...it's titled Lifestyle of Worship. this teaching has changed my life. I think I've already listened to it 5 times! one of the nuggets of truth she shares is..."there's enough grace for today to get done what you need to get done today." love this. I've been repeating this to myself lately and it has brought me life, encouragement, and peace! I pass this onto anyone reading who needs to hear the truth...that our heavenly Father will give us the grace we need to get done everything we need to get done today!

Happy Birthday Chris!!!

my sweet hubby turned 37 a few weeks ago (yes I am very behind on blogging!).
there are so many things we love about him...
if you know Chris well, you know he LOVES people...loves his friends and loves to be around friends all the time. I love this quality about him. it made for an interesting wedding with 18 groomsmen; it makes for a busy life with friends coming over all the time; and coming to love how much he's on the phone maintaining friendships. love this, absolutely love this!

for chris' birthday we made it a day of favorites:
-Chic Fil A for breakfast in bed
-a large diet coke with lime from Sonic brought to the office
- a chocolate chip cookie from the bakery (that emma held in her hand for an hour before giving it to chris!)
-homemade yellow cake with chocolate icing...and what else, but OU on it!
-his favorite dinner of simmered chicken tacos with cilantro and black beans
-dinner with his girls...and his regular chat with bob jarvis!!! :)

in years past we celebrated with lots of friends (last year a huge surprise party!)...but this year it was just the 4 of us and i must say we LOVED it!

emma rose
sophie lynn
(feeding daddy his cake)
I've told you this for years and I still feel the same way...thank you for choosing me. It is an honor to be your wife and friend on this journey. I love you so much and hope you know how loved you are by all 3 of your girls!
you are such a tender and kind daddy, so loving and fun!
happy birthday and much love!!!
- love meg, emma rose, & sophie lynn
