bAbY Grigor is a....

GIRL!!!
our friends kerri and gerod are happy to announce they are having another baby girl this January!
we are SO excited for them!
they had a fun gender reveal party where you could come dresses in pink or blue and once you arrived, the pinkness everywhere gave the answer!

happy mommy & daddy!
love you guys!

scene of the crime

this picture doesn't do justice to what happened the other night...
we had some friends over, who have asked to remain nameless...we first went to a friend's child's birthday party where endless Chic Fil A was served and consumed. who would actually be able to eat after that?
enter the culprits...
babies and kids went down for the night, Pizza Shuttle was ordered, and then an hour later double dipped sundaes from Braums' were picked up.
mmmm! delicious going down...not so fun this morning!!!
thank you dear friends, you know who you are! thanks for a FUN night of packing on the pounds!

nesting

you know you're pregnant & nesting when...
- you have emptied, washed, and organized every closet in the house
- when ordering at Chic Fil A my hubby asks "what do you want?" and my answer: "large!"
- you would rather clean than do something fun
- my 3 year old says "oh my goodness mom, your belly is getting big!" on a daily basis
- you take trips to the bathroom every 2 hours or less
- your belly sits on your legs when sitting down
- you cry when happy or sad
************
5 weeks to go, it feels like forever! Little One, we are so ready to meet you, hold you, kiss you, and bring you home! Daddy will be naming you soon :) and we can't wait to see you soon!

summer at the park

my girls love I repeat love going to the park!
right now our favorite is marc heitz park on lindsay street. the slides are huge, it's fenced in, shaded area to enjoy our picnic (also a favorite!).
I must say sophie impresses me- the slides are super high and she goes down them all by herself!

we have loved spending our summer at the parks in norman!

1st DaY oF ScHoOL!!!

here's Emma posing for a pic on her first day of preschool at Gingerbread! when she was born, my friend Stephanie said to put her on the waiting list so I did...I can't believe the time is here already that she's going to preschool! she'll be going twice a week...and loving every minute of it!
chris wanted his princess to start the day off right: donuts & flowers
thanks muka & uncle damon for the card!
um...look at that smile! could she be happier!?!?!
it's been over 100 degrees here for over a month now...and it was pouring rain on our way to school!
sweet sophie...she was SO sad watching emma get out of the car, which, if you blinked, you missed her departure. :) once the door shut, sophie softly said "sissy?" over and over.
then we dropped chris off at work "da da?"
just you and me baby girl!
(and yes, I cried a little bit!)
*****************************
emma rose,
we are so glad your first day went well (even though you already came home with an accident report form because you fell off the zip line and bruised/scratched your back and ribs)! we miss you, the house isn't the same without your sweet voice. we are so excited for what the Father has in store for you this year in your precious class of friends! we pray His JOY over you in this season!
you are loved little one, more than you know!
love you!!!

grant & emma HILL

we could not be happier for our friends grant and emma! they were married this past weekend in one of the sweetest ceremonies I've ever been to. every part of the rehearsal, the ceremony, the reception resembled grant and emma! what a fun weekend! they're now honeymooning in the Bahamas...I wish honeymoons came every year!!!
the happy couple
this cake was unbelievable! our friend chris castro made it...it was the best wedding cake I've ever had! chocolate cake with peanut butter cream in the middle, butter cream frosting! yummy!
here's my handsome hubby/groomsman and my belly (33 weeks...6 weeks until she's here!)
********************
the Hills',
we love you guys so much and we're so honored to be your friends and be a part of such a special celebration of the Lord's love! welcome to the club! love you!!!

chris took emma to get a haircut for her first day of school on tuesday...
she's SO excited to start school! we have a countdown calendar we tear off every morning- she laughs and smiles with excitement...and I try not to cry! I just can't believe my baby girl is starting preschool in 2 days!
we love you Bear!

family of runners

chris and I love to run! when we dated and were first married, we ran on campus with grant and josh all the time- especially on game days!
oh how our little Lovies change everything!
as any parent knows, you have to either get up to exercise at 5am or take them with you!
good thing our girls love the jogger stroller! they even go and sit in it when we're playing outside.
the funny part is emma will narrate for you:
"mommy, you're getting tired?"
"daddy is going fast?"
"mommy, daddy goes faster than you?"
"ew! you're sweaty!"
pushing 2 kids in a jogger brings a whole new meaning to the term "natural resistance"!

3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 teas. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 pinch salt
1 teas. baking soda
1/4 c. cocoa powder
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. PB chips
peanut butter
***********************
1. cream butter and sugars
2. add eggs, vanilla
3. mix dry ingredients, slowly add
4. add chocolate chips
5. spoon dough onto ungreased cookie sheet
6. spoon a dollop of PB into cookies
7. bake 8-11 minutes @ 375 degrees and enjoy!
my girls added the ingredients, ate a lot of dough and chips and they still tasted delicious!
who says baking has to be exact?!?! :)
you can also pour the dough into a greased baking dish, bake a few minutes longer and spread peanut butter on top right when it comes out of the oven...mmm mmm good!

cutting into the cake...chocolate cake= BOY and pink cake= GIRL...
the cake was PINK on the inside!!!!

I LOVE this

did you know the Texas Rangers play 6 nights out of 7 right now? unfortunately I know and don't love this.
emma and I have opposite feelings- she LOVES it! when she was born, my mom gave her a set of pink sporting goods, one being a pink baseball glove and pink baseballs.
we found those after lunch and I explained to her daddy would play when he came home from work.
nope, that wouldn't do. she called him at work and asked to play catch with him right now...
in the middle of his work day, chris stopped to play with her
sophie may be more of a girly girl
I love this
this may be my favorite memory as a parent so far. chris has been working so much, so hard, later than normal, under lots of stress...he dropped it all to pursue his Rose.
love it
love it
love it

taking it easy

last week after emma's stitches, the doctor said to "take it easy and no pool for a week"...not exactly an easy task with 2 kids during the summer.
I'm sure emma and I had the same look on our faces when he said 'no pool'.
so for a few days, we attempted the impossible. we did have some sweet time together with LOTS of cuddling, back scratching, playing with hair, playing with toys in the floor...really sweet
sweet Bear
we watched lots of movies too! with our babies of course!
sweet little Boo, can't believe you will be 2 in a few months!

"Oh lovely job..."

"glue won't fix that...she's going to need stitches"
emma's head met the staircase and the staircase won. thankfully my sweet friend Jen kept sophie and emma and I went to Urgent Care to take care of her.
she was so brave, the numbing injections (lots of tears) were the worst part and then 3 stitches. afterwards she looked at the doctor and said, "Oh lovely job, thanks for fixing my head!" in the sweetest voice.
oh Bear, you amaze me.

well, there are some perks:
- cookies from Stacie
- milk shake from mommy
- lemonade and a tea party from Callyn & Toni
- flowers and ice cream from daddy
- phone calls/texts from her Muka and friends
- watching lots of movies to "take it easy"
tea party with toni & callyn
we love you emma rose!

hospital tour

we went to hand in my pre-admit papers for when our baby girl arrives and while we were there, we decided to take a tour of the new beautiful hospital built just a few minutes from our house.
if you haven't been to the new Norman Regional Hospital yet- it's wonderful!! we can't wait to welcome our new little one there in just 8 weeks!
while waiting for the tour, emma made friends with Pat, the front desk volunteer
we joke that she has my attention to detail, organization etc...but she is ALL her daddy when it comes to making friends with everyone and being able to talk about anything! such a social butterfly!
sweet Kathy showed us around, we got to peek in on the nursery and see some "brand new ones" (babies!)

crazy hair!

this picture doesn't do sophie's hair justice...
my kids wake up with big, crazy hair every day- this particular morning was larger than usual!
the dazed face while inhaling 4 cinnamon sugar pancakes makes it that much more hilarious!
love you boo!
