Happy Friday

It's Friday.  That means there are giddy little girls running wild in this house.  Only a few more hours until he's home.
We have had ourselves a fabulously fun week.
Emma's school trip to the zoo delivered.

She would walk by, hold my hand for a few seconds and then tromp right back to her agenda and pace.
Today she told me how even though she's not a baby anymore, she's still my baby.
Yes.  You.  Are.
As it is with anything fun for kids, comes planning and lots of work.  Her teachers prepared and planned such a fun day for our babes.  And the parents enjoyed our toasty stroll sprinkled with conversation and quick glances for little ones.
Sweet Cambelle.
She took in the sights in her mama's arms.  I'm always amazed when I look around and see these mamas, chasing kiddos with babies in their arms.  Making sandwiches and kissing skinned knees. Answering the why's? and serving up batches of kisses and hugs.
Honored to be in the company of such incredible mamas.

As the mamas chatted, we watched our littles in their own conversation.
And we watched them soak in carousel adventures under blue skies and warm sunshine.
What a treat.

Chris had a work dinner last night and left us to our vices.
Vices being the back yard, grimy little hands, popsicles, bubble baths, and the Food Network.

I can't get enough of her.  She cruised all over the yard and I just watched and cheered.
She would pause, turn and wave.

And I did my best not to dump a canister of syrup on her and eat her instantly.

Sister missed us while we frolicked at the zoo.  She was all cranky and loud, opinionated and specific.
We're working on it.  Channeling her...all of her.

Alicia has lived with us for almost 2 years now.  She's under strict enforcements that she is not to move out until the night before she gets married.  Whenever that is.
I know He has a stud in store for her some day.  Until then, we are nuts about her.

Emma insisted on jumping pictures.
But I have a baby in my arms.
But mom!
I'm sure the neighbors think I'm a nut.
I can deal.
Family is coming, making their way to our house for a weekend of being together and plenty of college football. We'll put away our flip flops and pull out jackets because chilly temperatures have been promised and we're ready.
And the play will continue as it did today.
After Mr. Peepers ate her apple, we headed to campus to visit daddy and see what trouble we could find.

We were successful.
Daddy even had time for a little catch.

We eventually found some trouble in the form of tasty sweet treats.
Plaid bars.
Enough said.
Boo picked every last one of the chocolate chips off hers.  Sister knows how to savor deliciousness when she sees it.

We strolled back to the car.  Actually more like stressed out running in attempts to beat the parking meter running out of change and sliding into the car before the parking enforcement folks could write me a ticket.
Successful once again.
And while babies nap, I must be a grown up now and take care of business before this house dubs for Where the Wild Things Are and the mess overtakes us all.

The weekend has begun.
Happy Friday.
