July is Here

I woke up this morning and realized it's July.  Sometimes the every day loop of raising babies and being on our own schedule makes for losing track of days, dates, and in this case, months.  And that's always a good thing.
It's July, good groceries that means a lot around here.  Top on the list, that means Bella Jane comes next month, next month.  We can hardly stand it.  Preparations, trips to Babysrus, and the much anticipated arrival of our sweet one.

Meanwhile, it's toasty around these parts.  So little ones happily cope with trips outside to play in their jammies and make their way inside to cool off for games of Candy Land.
We don't really follow the rules, it's much more fun to decide who we want to be and where we want to live.  The cards are simply a suggestion.
I like this version of Candy Land.

Lack of vacations or incredibly fascinating summer plans leave us with wide open days making trips to the pool, play dates with friends, hours outside, and embracing the usual trips for groceries, OB appointments, laundry, swim lessons, and to-do's.

Our July will take on its own shape of summer, keeping with the same bucket list of June and we quite like it.

Leaving plenty of space for spontaneous family nights.
We drove to a little town close by for some pizza and infamous snow cones.
The owner brought the girls each a blob of pizza dough, a simple kind gesture on his part leaving our little chefs very happy.

I love watching these babies together.  You offer them space and they decline, opting for the comfort of closeness being near each others little bodies.  I love it.

Someone asked me the other day if home still feels dreamy and wonderful.  The answer is yes.
We love being home.  Sophie still asks for home.
And this past weekend at home, we welcomed my mom and brother.
Always a treat having them here, they love our babies well and the love is returned from these little hearts.

More backyard BBQ's, swimming, and favorite recipes to welcome the weekend.  Our trip earlier in the week for pizza sent us home with freshly made pizza dough just waiting to be used.  We knew what we wanted, cinnamon rolls.  Sister rocked her own version this time and proudly served up a delicious breakfast for all.
Emma's Cinnamon Rolls
1 lb. pizza dough
2-3 tbl. melted butter
handful of brown sugar
a few dashed of cinnamon and sugar
Icing
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2-3 tbl. milk
1.  roll out dough on floured surface
2.  pour melted butter over dough leaving edges dry
3.  sprinkle sugars and spices
4.  roll up dough and make "typewriter" sounds like Pioneer Woman does on her show
5.  place in greased pan, cover with damp towel and let rise
6.  bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, keep an eye on 'em
7.  whisk icing and pour over hot rolls
Then give that baby her due praise for making such tasty morsels.

After your belly is full, trickle outside and watch their imaginations run wild.
Step into their simple world and just be.

The holiday to come is bringing the hubs home.  Fireworks with friends are lined up, more swimming and backyard meals, a dip into our bucket list for an adventure to the peach orchard.  July has much in store for us.
We are elated, overjoyed, and are happily embracing this short time left this summer.  No promises of cooler temperatures or agendas to wake earlier or be more productive, no worries for this crew.

July is here.

Happy July to all!
