Painting the 4th

We had us some celebrations for the 4th this year.  A complete embrace of the heat and local fireworks, late nights with friends and sun kissed babies, hours in the pool, and maybe a few family naps.

Babies were smooched and cuddled endlessly under the summer sun.  The hubs was home from work for a few days.  The alarm clock was little ones tip toeing into our room, sun peeking through the drapes, requests for cartoons were met, and fulfillments of pancakes.  Each day a blank canvas to be painted with memories together.

And paint we did.  Just ask Boo.
Beginning with a trip for groceries.  We spent hours in the city and around home running errands, stocking up on essentials for the week and necessities for Bella.  After marking off our lists, we grabbed a few donuts in celebration of the days coming.

We started at The Trails with BBQ, friends, and fireworks.  I wish I'd grabbed a picture of the 6 sets of parents and tripled amounts of kids.  My Bunny leaned against my belly gripping her lovie in amazement of the fireworks overhead.

A fun kickoff for sure.
The 4th proudly delivered an applaudable performance met with many encores and cheers.

Let the curtain rise as the canvas is consumed...our 4th in pictures...

 Meg & Bella's Lemonade
3 parts equal of lemonade, pineapple juice, orange juice
...yes please.

Tonight giddiness brews because the weekend has arrived.  And that calls for syrupy breakfasts, no alarms, and schedules revolving around meals and our chosen pace.
Right now the house is dark and quiet.  The air hums in unison with ceiling fans and little bodies sleep soon to awake to the news of pizza and ice cream with friends on campus.  Sweeping up wet hair from the hours at the pool and slipping into sun dresses for a night together.

Bed time is a fluid concept because the masterpiece created now in display calls for more.
More laughter met with silly made up jokes by littles.
More recipes to browse for our freshly, ripened picked peaches.
More relishing in the blessing of family and sweet excitement she will be here in 5 weeks.
