Summer's Commence

Summer is half way over, plenty of memories tucked away and many more to be made.
Bella Jane will commence this toasty season with her arrival, many things tending to revolve around this precious package in little minds.

I'll start kindergarten after Bella Jane comes, right?
Does Bella Jane come before or after we go trick or treating?
Alice turns 2 after Bella Jane is born, is that right mama?

They come with me to my appointments, loaded in the stroller with snacks and toys from home.  Eager to greet nurses and hear her heart beat steady and strong, ask Dr. Jarvis questions and bring her pictures.
My OB is truly amazing, a friend and blessing to our family.  I remember sitting in an exam room 6 years ago crying after struggling to get pregnant with our Bear, how she sat with me and spoke life over me.  Now years later she's a rock star with celebrity status in our house.
The berries, for sure.
Our summer of nothingness has indeed delivered and as it winds down over the next 4 weeks, fall will seep into our schedules and plans.
Haircuts, school supplies lists, carpool arrangements, and Chris gearing up for his busy season of work.  A few items being tackled early but for the most part, they're hushed for now.
Right now the sun streams in waking us up, sleeping in much later than normal.  The pool calls, nights outside await, and summer pace of grocery stores lined with bins of corn and nectarines keep us in the mindset that this toasty season is just the berries.  Being present with my babies and yet looking ahead just enough.

As any mama knows, there is much work to be done.  Laundry piles of sundresses caked with popsicle juice and sand.  Messy rooms from dress up and puzzle attempts.  Meals to be cooked and potties to scrub.  Buying groceries and changing diapers but reigning supreme is our pace, our bucket list.  And maybe some homemade ice cream sandwiches bringing a day spent outside to a close.
This recipe is easy as can be, my babies chipped in to help.  We spiced it up a bit with mixing 2 types of ice cream because sometimes plain vanilla just won't do.
They did not disappoint.
The hubs continues his list of projects around the house, again the timer going off in our heads of completion before our Belle arrives.

The slow commencement of summer continues a fabulous performance in much need of applause and encore.  Returning from responsibilities, setting off for zoo trips and time with friends to celebrate birthdays and sweet couples in love choosing forever.

And in the back of my mind with each day in the summer sun, I feel her move and stir.  Almost as if she knows she is loved already, how her sisters ask daily for her to come.

Summer's commence is our delight.  Memories are stacking up of bike riding without training wheels, continued attempts at pie crust, and a wide open agenda calling for time together.

Happy summer to all!
