Last week proceeded as usual. Some errands, some play dates, a birthday party, and a doctor's appointment for mama.
Little did we know the beginning pages were already being written. An arrival soon to come of our girl.
Her due date was August 21st, a repeat c-section was scheduled for August 14th. At my appointment, after 3 weeks of lower abdominal sharp pains Dr. Jarvis suggested we deliver another week early to prevent possible complications. She asked me to keep her posted on the pain and contractions. Over the weekend, I finished up school supplies shopping, grabbing groceries, and completing preparations for bringing a baby home. On Saturday we grabbed lunch and swam with friends for a few hours. We brought babies home for naps and more playing. After dinner, I was breathing through some contractions and the sharp pains became worse. A causal text to update my doctor was reciprocated with her phone call.
It was time.
We were to come to the hospital, anesthesia was waiting for us along with my sweet friend Amy, a nurse who stayed past her day shift to be my nurse in surgery. My heart was a little anxious and sweet Amy's selflessness was the sweetest avenue for the Lord's peace. We checked in learning my contractions were 3-5 minutes apart, quickly prepped for my c-section, wheeled into the operating room, epidural administered, blue sheet up.
And then waited.
A few minutes later, the most precious sight was held up for our eyes to gaze upon.
She was here. She was beautiful.

Our sweet girl is here and she is perfect, healthy, and we are in love. Her story of coming to us makes me smile.
Chapter 1 begins.
Sisters were in pure delight meeting her. Our hearts were blessed by family and friends, all extending love and affection for our little one.
Our first week home has come with all of the norms of a newborn with lack of sleep, adjustments for all, new challenges and blessings overwhelming thankful hearts. Chris has been home from work and with this time off we have jumped into the pages of this new journey as a family of 6.
Learning together in the newness and blessings of a growing family.
Learning greater depths of grace and patience.
Learning this house is forever changed by our Bella.
Our hearts are full in this new season, in this new chapter for this family so gracefully bestowed by a generous Father.
Thank you Jesus for all you have done, many great things, and we are filled with joy.

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being. So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love may have the power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
