A Feast of Gratitude

Soon we'll be on our way.  The car will be packed full of little girls, mashed potatoes, and pies.  Family awaits and the house is full to the brim with cousins, laughter and catching up, baby coos, suitcases and heavenly scents from the kitchen with promise of the feast to come.

I smile and partake in the deep gratitude bringing heart swells and tears.

We are grateful.
Sophie turns 4 in a few days and last week we celebrated her.

Little One, you are a blessing and a heritage.  A gift that has forever changed our family.

My dear friends and mama came to help, some doing make up, others handwriting invitations, and some dressing up quite beautifully.  All in love with our Sophie Lynn.
Tonight I am thankful.

Thankful for heaven's dreams for family.  For the inner workings of parents reaching deep into grace, because without it we remain in brokenness.
For the desperation to grab a hold of garments of praise because there we know His goodness and forgiveness.  In this place of mercy and endless joy.

We remember and know the truth of this entrusted royalty we have been given.

Thankful to watch her grow and discover.  To watch her learn to love, learn to bake, learn to come into the fullness of the destiny the Father has created for this precious life.

Thankful for the power to heal and restore.  Thankful for boldness in her step and fearlessness in encounter.  She was crafted by the Maker, knit in my womb.  Created to set the captives free and usher in His kingdom.

All little ones are.
Hands immersed in dirt and paint, and deep inside a romance brews.  A steadfast pursuit so lovely and sacred, set apart.  A Father's delight and tender workmanship.

They are world changers.
They are precious in His sight.
They are called His Beloved.

Today we will feast and we will share thankful hearts.  We'll change diapers and wipe noses.  We'll make plans and say yes more.  We will relish in the gift of family and love.

We are thankful.
A feast of gratitude.
